ALARM INVOLUNTARY OPERATION - SENSOR MALFUNCTION
Alarm is activated involuntarily, i.e. without vehicle disturbance
Cause
Volumetric sensor affected by normal cabin air moisture when vehicle is left unattended.
Action
An improved volumetric sensor part number YWC 106310 has been fitted from VIN WA 607436.
Before replacing sensor with the above part, the following test should be carried out to confirm problem is volumetric and not perimetric:
Using TestBook:
In Security section, go to Information and view the Alarm Trigger Readings Buffer. Up to 4 involuntary alarm events will be recorded. Ignore any test alarm events when interrogating trigger readings.
Volumetric faults:
If last genuine alarm event was caused by a Volumetric fault, replace volumetric sensor, refer to the Workshop Manual Electrical - Repairs section for full replacement information.
NOTE:
Replacement of sensor (repair number 86.77.29) will first require removal of headlining, ensure care is taken to prevent trim damage. Replace fir tree fasteners for new (see PARTS INFORMATION ).
Perimetric Faults:
If last alarm event was triggered by other causes, i.e. a Perimetric fault, investigate cause and rectify. Check bonnet and door latch switching etc. for intermittent faults.
