Problem -
SQUEAL FROM FRONT BRAKES
A squeal/vibration noise which occurs under braking at random speed and load conditions.
Cause
Front brake caliper resonance.
Action
Replace front brake calipers with new calipers having increased mass. Refer to Workshop Manual - Brakes - Repairs.
1. Remove both caliper housings as described in repair number 70.55.24.
2. Remove both caliper carriers from swivel hubs.
3. Clean mating faces of swivel hubs and fit new carriers (not handed). Tighten bolts to 83 Nm.
4. Fit new caliper housings (handed) to carriers as described in repair number 70.55.24.
