Problem -
EMERGENCY KEY ACCESS CODE (EKA) INCORRECTLY RECORDED
The EKA code is incorrectly entered onto the customers Security Card.
Cause
Confusion over the manner in which EKA code details are presented on the Vehicle Delivery Manifest document.
Action
Refer to the following information to enable the correct details to be established.
- The Delivery Manifest currently describes the EKA code in the two positions circled below.
- On the left hand side of the document, in the ‘VIN’ column, the code is shown in a letter and numbers format, e.g. B531. This must NOT be used on the Security Card.
- In the centre of the document, in the ‘Description’ column, the code is shown as part of a stream of numbers which include the radio serial number, followed by the radio security code and finally, the EKA code, as follows:
RG594FV4000476 0174 11 05 03 01 where 11 05 03 01 is the EKA code. It will be seen that ‘B’ has been replaced by ‘11’.
- The full number/letter conversion is as follows:
Please ensure that EKA code details are correctly interpreted and that only numeric details are entered onto the customers Security Card at the PDI stage.
