Problem -
CUSTOMERS HAVE DIFFICULTY OPERATING THE SOFTBACK, AND MAY EVEN DAMAGE THE HOOD
Cause
Operating the softback may be extremely difficult if the owners handbook is not referred to.
Action
At, or prior to, handover of softback derivatives, demonstrate to the customers the correct operation of the softback, and then allow the customers the opportunity to operate the softback themselves.
If in doubt, the customer should refer to the Freelander Owners Handbook, supplement, part number LRL0442 (2 nd edition), pages 5 to 16.
NOTE: The supplement will be included into the Handbook from 03 MY. A modified hood and instruction sheet was introduced on vehicles from VIN 2A 208990. The instruction sheet is located in the roof stowage pouch. Inform the customer as to the whereabouts of the instruction sheet and that it must be used to aid the correct operation of the softback.
