Problem -
INVOLUNTARY OPERATION OF TAILDOOR GLASS - MICROSWITCH
The tail door glass operates without driver intervention when travelling at high speed or over poor surfaces.
Cause
The roofoff microswitch is not fully depressed, resulting in partial engagement of the switch contacts.
Action
On customer complaint of the taildoor glass operating unexpectedly, carry out the following procedure to ensure positive operation of the roofoff switch.
NOTE: Do not remove the hardback .
- Remove for access the right hand rear quarter lower casing - Workshop Manual repair number 76.13.12, the right hand rear side casing - repair number 76.13.57 and the right hand rear quarter upper casing - repair number 76.13.13.
- Locate the three finisher securing screws, (arrowed in illustration).
- Slacken the three screws and push the finisher firmly upwards so that the micro switch (circled in illustration) is fully depressed against the hardback.
NOTE: The switch is mounted on the finisher - approximately 5mm of vertical movement is available on the finisher fixings.
- Hold the finisher in its new position and tighten the securing screws to 2.0Nm.
- Refit the casings as described in the Workshop Manual.
