Problem -
TAILDOOR DIFFICULT TO OPEN / CLOSE - CHECK ARM
Excessive effort required to open or close taildoor.
Cause
Taildoor check arm excess friction due to lack of lubrication.
Action
Lubricate taildoor check arm as follows:
1. Locate taildoor check arm slider mechanism, this is located below the trim casing and can be accessed without any component removal.
2. Apply a thin coating of grease to the UPPER face of the check arm sliding rail. Use a multi purpose Lithium base grease N.L.G.I. consistency No. 2, as specified for use during routine maintenance, or a general purpose grease containing 3% Molybdenum Disulphide.
3. Confirm taildoor operation is now satisfactory.
