Problem -
FRONT SEAT SQUAB SQUEAK/RATTLE - LUMBAR CABLE
Noise emanating from the lower seat squab area.
Cause
Excessive length of the squab lumbar adjust cable resulting in contact with lower squab frame.
Action
Insulate cable lower loop from squab frame as follows:
1. Release squab cover from base of squab frame and pull cover up sufficiently to reveal lower lumbar support mechanism.
2. Referring to the illustration and inset, apply a foam anti - squeak pad, part number VFZ100000 in the position indicated, (this is the forward facing section of the lower squab frame). Apply pad to the frame starting at the frame centre line, so that the pad insulates the lumbar adjust cable lower loop from the adjacent squab frame.
3. Refit squab cover.
4. Operate the lumbar support control while leaning against the squab and confirm operation is squeak free.
NOTE:
Vehicles from VIN WA 601416 onwards have a shorter lumbar cable which eliminates the need for an anti-squeak pad.
